Signs Your Gelco Crown Repair Is Failing

• Hairline cracks running from flue tile to crown edge. These form when the concrete crown expands and contracts at a different rate than the flue liner beneath it. In Waltham’s climate, water enters these cracks in March, freezes overnight, and widens them by spring - we’ve measured cracks grow from 1/16 inch to 1/4 inch in a single season near Prospect Hill Park.
